WHOHOOOOOOOO!!! SPRING! PARTY! PRESENTS!

Welcome one and all to Momedy. I'm Kirsty, mom of four, South African transplant to Ohio, sometimes doula, pre/post partum fitness instructor and writer with a love/hate (mostly love) relationship with running, and an unhealthy obsession with Ferreror Rocher and Cadbury's chocolate, my floor mop, and the Real Housewives of Various Materialistic and Shallow Locations . I work with the Young Women of our church which keeps me young and prematurely ages me simultaneously (unexplained phenomenon). I love my husband who is a saint, but funny and un-pious while he is at it. My kids make me look good . I like them too, rather a lot.

I write a weekly feature at Modern Molly Mormons: Run and Not Be Weary: Health for your Whole Self, where I give often hypocritical (yet excellent) advice.

I'm so excited that you decided to drop by! For real. I hope you will stay a while!

So...ummm..you may not have heard but....It is Officially SPRING!!! (In the Northern Hemisphere-Happy AUTUMN to those down South!!) I'd say that warrants an Ultimate Blog Party!!

I promised presents, and presents there shall be. Lookie, look!!!...at all the bounty one hyper-lucky commenter is going to receive! If that uber-super lucky individual is you (and really, why shouldn't it be? You are a good person, you have it coming to you, no?)... on one very awesome mail-day in the near future, you can look forward to receiving.....

Wait for it..........

*from Laura at Happy2Scrap everything to make a Chatterbook similar to this one. Remember the one lucky Kallie won? Now you can all stop being jealous of lucky Kallie, and have one of your very own. You even get to pick your own word! Isn't life beautiful?

Be sure to click on over there to choose your favourite colour scheme and include your choice in your comment. (Playhouse & Retro are unavailable)
Laura will include the monogram (letter) stickers and the runway kit as well as the chatter book
of your choice. (Wow!) Isn't Laura awesome? (The answer to that is YEBO (or "yes!" for the few of you who may not speak Zulu)

*from Claire at Tastefully Simple... this simply scrumptious selection:

  • Almond Pound Cake
  • Itty Bitty Oh My Chai
  • Toffee Mocha Drink Mix
  • Packet of Spinach and Herb Mix
  • Tempting Appetizers Recipe Book
keep it all for yourself or share with a friend, we won't ask. (Tip: Tastefully Simple makes much appreciated teacher's gifts I have discovered). I encourage you to click around Claire's site. She is a delight to work with, and her products are delish beyond compare. (And even I can make them).

And what about from little old me at Momedy? I did promise I suppose...

Hmm....*scratching around in my purse* I have a half finished packet of gum...an only slightly used lipstick...I dunno...hmm...maybe you'd prefer a $15 gift card to spend at Amazon.com however you please? Buy yourself a book or a spatula or put it towards a Dyson (that should practically pay for one)...whatever floats your boat chickadee, have it your way...it's SPRING after all!

But oh my...WAIT!HOLD.THE. PHONE. I got so carried away that I almost forgot...The.Chocolate *reverent pause* Sacrilege!
Nothing good or right is complete without chocolate, so to the pot I add...a 3.5oz slab of Cadbury's Fruit & Nut chocolate. AKA: Nirvana in a wrapper.

Now let's all breathe into a paper bag for a moment and review what is necessary to win all this bounteous bounty....... Just leave a comment, I don't ask for much. Tell us your favourite thing about Spring and don't forget to specify your preferences for the chatter book.

And hey, if you like what you see here (I tell you how to lose 40lbs in 3 months and how to get high legally on your couch-what's not to love??) join the ranks of my above averagely beautiful, wise, and witty Blog followers (in that pretty mosaic box to your upper left <----). Not only will this ensure that you never miss a single moment of my scintillating ramblings, it also gives you the chance to win a followers only prize drawing. It's all fancy and exclusive-like.

Check out all the fun (and oh, you KNOW there is some fun happening) at the Ultimate Blog Party Headquarters. The Ultimate Party Pad if you will.

Did I mention......WHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!??
And oh yes...

HAPPY SPRING!!!! (or Autumn)

(And for those fretting foreigners....never you fear! I will mail all the awesomeness to whomever wins wherever they may live in all the big wide world. )

As for my wish list...I would LOVE to win anything. I never do you know, so it would be a thrill and a half. If I had to choose my top 3 prizes would be...

Because who couldn't use an extra $50 to spend at Target??
1 — $100 gift certificate to either Pedal Cars and Retro or A Rocking Horse To Love
Provided by: 5 Minutes for Mom
Because seriously, how cute are those? And I have little boy turning 5 (sniff) in May.

Wow, Kirsty!! You have some fabulous prizes! I know nothing about scrapbooking so I choose Slumber Party just because it sounds like the most fun. Daffodils are my absolute favorite thing about Spring & my yard is totally bare of them this year. I'm going to have to go buy some potted ones soon.

My favorite part of spring: leaving school at around 6 or 7 PM, the sun still out, slightly warm temp, the smell of the freshly mowed baseball field, and feeling...light.

Totally not picky on the book motif.

I am not entering the prize drawing (if you pick my number, then give my winnings to lucky #28, whoever that ends up being!), but I did want to say "hi" since it's been a while and tell you that I don't think I know anyone who wishes for Spring more than you do--I am delighted for your sake (in particular) that it is upon us! Here's to lots of flowers poking their cheery heads out of the ground, singing birds, blossoms etc. (I suppose the random snowfalls will have to stop too...). My favorite thing about Spring (pretending I still live in Wisconsin where there is a Spring) is being able to sit outside. Happy blog-party day!!

This post was so funny! I'm still laughing at the "Real Housewives of Various Materialistic and Shallow Locations" part! :)

I'm so glad I found your blog! I've been reading Modern Molly Mormon since I came across it last week, so I'm glad I found one of it's contributors!

Let's see...about the giveaways, can I just say that the prizes are amazing! I've never seen the catterbooks before, but they are soooo cool! Plus, who doesn't love chocolate and gift certificates to Amazon! I guess I've already taken up a lot of comment space, so I'll get to the giveaway answer.

My favorite thing about Spring is flying kites!! Oh, and I love the Caroline color scheme.

Great party post, I've enjoyed the visit!

Let's see...my favorite thing about spring...oh, the flowers. We have a dogwood in our front yard and when it blossoms it's breathtaking! We've got some trees that just sprouted purple yesterday and I'm in heaven!

(oh, and I pick tressie!)

Happy Spring Kirsty! I always leave here with a smile.

My favorite part of spring, hmmm...I think it's the sheer giddiness that abounds when the kids get out of school on the first really nice day of spring. It's always a lovely sight to behold.

Look at me, I'm leaving a comment! Whee!
My favorite thing about spring is having longer in the afternoon to play outside in the increasingly wonderful weather and the little pink glow left on our cheeks afterward (the least fav thing is related and that is that I never think about dinner until it begins to get dark at 8 pm or so and by then, well, its just too late!)

What great giveaway item - I love them all!

My favorite part of Spring is all the green I see pushing through the dirt in my garden!

I couldn't get the colors to come up on my computer but I am sure I would love them all!

Rebecca said...

Hi, Kirsty!

Just me -- reciprocating! We're originally from the Roseburg area (Winston, actually...well, Tenmile, but no one knows where that is). Glad you enjoyed the desserts -- calorie-free y'know!

My gift of choice? I'll take the chocolate if you can get it here without it melting. Mexican chocolate is...different.

Spring? Love spring. The flowers are going crazy, the days are warm and toasty, but the nights are clear and a little crisp and the mosquitos haven't called in their reinforcements yet.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend and a great party!!!

Nicole said...

Your site is great, I will be sure to come back! What I love about spring is when you are getting the yard all cleaned up and the new flowers are poking through. For the chatterbox, I like the Urban colors. Thanks for the great contest!

Hi Kristy....Happy UBP to you.
I think my favorite thing about spring is the new life that is everywhere.....from the daffodils emerging from the ground, the delicate new budding of the trees, birds returning from the south, to the sound of children now playing once again in the neighborhood.

May you have a most beautiful spring.

Corie said...

Happy Spring to you too! I am so glad to see winter on its way out the door!

My pick would be tressie! :)

Hope you have a great UBP!

Hi Kirsty,
I love reading your blog- I just crack up everytime.

My fav part of spring is the longer days, the smell of grass, the sound of lawn mowers, and of course the flowers. I also love that fresh fruit becomes much more delicious. I love Easter and the whole meaning of new life and beauty all around. It is the end of the long winter slumber, and it makes me want to buy new springy dresses, get tanned up and dance!
Loves,

Kim

I like the Caroline color way! Love my blues and browns. Your prizes are fantastic. If you are not shipping internationally, may I try to win for family back in the States? It would be a great surprise for them.

Ta!

It is so very nice to meet you. I'm trying to visit all the blogs involved in the party. With as many as there are now, that is 254 per day if I do it for 4 days. I hope the little one takes a long nap, lol! I am loving this!

I love Spring because it means outside play with my little one.

BTW, I thought I'd let you know that a google ad was covering the info a bit, so I couldn't read everything...

Der Kristy,
Ready about you and your likes. Love the space you created. I too am a good chocolate lover. I used to be satisfied with Herhey until my brother-in-law sstarted me on Godiva. Now a couple of times a year he sends me a box of confectionaries to die for.
Did you know that the author Roland Dahl had visited a Cadbury factory in England and it was the inspiration for his Willie Wonka?
Hope we touch base again.
Pat.

It is on March 23 (tomorrow, oh my!) and it is a day I know I can get away with doing whatever I want :oP

Hi Kirsty! I had to come visit your blog when I saw your comment on someone else's blog that your mom doesn't get to see your kids often. My only grandchild lives in Texas and I live in Illinois. It's HORRIBLE!!! I try to see him as often as possible, and I talk to him on a webcam, and I'm going for Easter. But it's really, really hard!

I also had to crack up when I saw you comment about the Real Housewives. Somehow, I recently got hooked on the Atlanta one. My daughter couldn't believe I was watching it, but there you go! :)

Hope you'll stop by and visit my party post. Your blog looks wonderful! Blessings...
