2. The car-wash still elicits amusement park ride like squeals from my kids

3. The fresh discovery that I can do more sit-ups then Nathan. (LOTS more. Infinitely more. More then he could ever imagine doing.). Did I mention I have had four kids? Did I, Nathan?? I can probably do more push-ups then he can do too. I'm almost certain of that. I can't tell you how much joy and gratitude this brings to my heart on this day. (In case you missed why this is so significant to me, I must explain that Nathan regularly mocks my athletic pursuits. And has for years. Mercilessly. ) And for one brief shining moment the tables are turned.

4.I detailed my car today. (It. Was. Gross) And now it is glorious. And although my head got stuck between/under seats when I tried to vacuum in obscure crevices a couple of times-I was able to free myself both times without massive head trauma. It was scary though. I'm not going to lie. I could have strangled myself. Or suffocated myself. People would have not been able to restrain themselves from snorting with laughter at my funeral. I am grateful for the shop vac and for Mr. Clean disinfecting wipes with Febreze.

5. Modern medicine. It would not be fun to be a mom sans cough syrup and motrin.

I must comment though, that this is not at all a "stunning reversal". The LDS Church has consistently expressed their support of anti-discrimination laws.
The Church does not object to rights (already established in California) regarding hospitalization and medical care, fair housing and employment rights, or probate rights, so long as these do not infringe on the integrity of the family or the constitutional rights of churches and their adherents to administer and practice their religion free from government interference.

The Church’s opposition to same-sex marriage neither constitutes nor condones any kind of hostility towards homosexual men and women. Protecting marriage between a man and a woman does not affect Church members’ Christian obligations of love, kindness and humanity toward all people.
