For fun friends to spend holidays with. Who let us invade their home for hours on end, feed us gourmet meals and keep us happily entertained.

Here we are guessing what everyone was thankful for this year.

For the sweetest dog ever who gets me out into the fresh air at regular intervals (she also helped get this amazingly cute little fellow over his fear of canines) I love how she has all her paws tucked under her. She’s so smart, there was a lot of action in that kitchen.

For four healthy kids who would rather play board games with each other then video games alone. Time and time again this weekend I have discovered them playing something low tech, happily together with the TV off. It warms a mother’s heart. Mostly, I am grateful they are each other’s best friends. They are never lonely. Today we went to the park, as I watched them play hide ‘n seek together, watched them ride their various forms of wheels home together, laughing, joking, scheming, occasionally bickering. I am so thankful that they have each other to make memories with. I feel bad for the little sister though, who will not have a “team” in the same way. Maybe I should give her three siblings in quick succession? Or not.

For an amazing, amazing husband. Who puts up uncomplainingly, sympathetic with my mood swings (which were quite epic the last few days- I blame an interruption in my usual workout routine and too much chocolate), anticipates my needs and quietly, efficiently does what needs to be done. He works so hard and totally uncomplainingly, keeps a great sense of humour through it all and deserves a medal every single day.

For Christmas decorations. I always spend the first day or two trying not to hyperventilate about the increase in CLUTTER in this tiny house but as I adjust I start to enjoy the magic that only Christmas tree lights and little nativity sets put up by small boys and girls can bring.

This magical, amazing season. I love this weekend which kicks off to it. I wish it weren’t over. I look forward to it all year It has been so delightful to spend stress-free time with my family and friends, to take long (cold) walks together. To stay up late chatting to friends and watching various incarnations of Pride and Prejudice. To eat far too much rich food, guilt free, to do some Christmas shopping, to kick off the hot chocolate by tree-light sessions every evening. It is a weekend that reminds me how blessed I am in every way.

Looks like great food and lots of family togetherness. Much different than our week-end, just the four of us!

Just popped over here from Lisa's Place...what a beautiful assortment of photos...and the people in them, too. Love the smiles. Love the fact you guys can play Monopoly. If our family plays Monopoly, we must remove all the forks and knives from the house.
So much to be thankful for. Seems there is a common thread that runs through that Thankfulness Tapestry.

Love the idea of Thanksgiving. Wish we did it in the motherland. Love your gratitude month. Also love the fact that your kids like each other. The idea of producting 3 siblings for Rainbow? I think stay with the "or not" idea. She will be doted on, adored and totally secure in the love of all these fun people and won't miss siblings because she has 4! Love your dog! Miss ours!!!
