Giveaway: Skin MD Natural

Amber from Skin MD Natural sent me a bottle of their amazing shielding lotion recently. Pefect timing since this is the time of year when my sweet princess Gracie gets what we lovingly refer to as "man hands". They get incredibly rough and red, chapped and dry and nothing seems to work on them for very long.

The first day we tried the Skin MD Natural Face, Hand & Body Shielding Lotion, she was dry and scaly, red and chapped all the way up to her sore little wrists. I cringed as I massaged it into her scaly man hands. They were positively reptilian. Poor little princess. The results were practically instantaneous. No more man hands. And since the bottle of skin MD natural has been in her room, none ever since.

It is clear to me now why this stuff is recommended by dermatologists. I have honestly never encountered anything like it.

There are other lotions we have used which are very moisturizing but also very greasy, (and have really underwhelmed us with their results) but this one is absolutely non- greasy. It disappears the moment you rub it on but you can feel the "invisible shield".

When I gave it to my friend Amy to try, she found it worked very well on a stubborn dry patch that had been bothering her, but the ultimate test was on her son. He became my test subject when he came to my house for a play date and spent much of the time scratching himself like a puppy. Happily he was flea free, but he was very dry that day, and looking very ashy. He is African-American and is prone to dry skin with ecsema which means it is also very sensitive and easily irritated. It worked wonders on him, taking him from chapped and cracked to soft smooth brown baby skin in literally an instant. I was sold forever.

I sound like an infomercial I know, and as always I must tell you that I receive no compensation for any of the reviews I do. I only post reviews of stuff I like though, (hence onlyglowing reviews) it is just very fun to be able to share stuff that I have discovered to really do what it says it will do.

This is the technical scientific stuff from the Skin MD Dermatologists:

Skin MD Natural is made in the US and is specially formulated using high quality natural ingredients making it over 90% all natural with all ingredients being of food grade and on the FDA's "most safe" list. It is free of harmful fragrances, parabens, and colourants making it hypo-allergenic. No animal testing, no animal products.

The shielding lotion is unlike any other conventional artificial moisturisers because it works with the skin to naturally moisturise and heal. Most conventional artificial moisturisers only add moisture to the surface of the skin but do little to repair the skin's natural barrier against moisture robbing irritants. Skin MD Natural breaks the dry-skin cycle by working to help restore skin's natural protective abilities, by bonding to the outer layer of skin, strengthening skin's natural barrier against toxins and irritants that can dry the skin, while locking in the skin's natural oils.

Wow! This stuff sounds incredible. We've recently moved back to the mainland from Hawaii, and the cold combined with the drying heat to keep us warm inside have really affected our skin. I'd love to try this.

Count me in. My son has severe eczema. I use organic vegetable shortening on him which is great. But comes in a huge tub. This would be something I could slip into my purse on the go!

HHHmmmm crazy timing my friend. We were just at the doc for Megy and in addition to her nagging cough she has huge red patches (eczema...runs in the family). I've used everything : Elidel, cortizone cream, benadryl, a&d ointment... Their solution was to give her Zyrtec...huh. I have a feeling it will work as well as the Benadryl. Maybe this stuff would work?

hehe - "reptilian" is perfect! My kids' hands get to what we call "lizard hands" because they're so incredibly dry. I didn't know Skin MD was a natural product - so many items say "natural" or something when they aren't really, I can't keep up with which ones are for real - it's good to hear of one that is really effective, I'll have to find some.

All 3 of my kids have dry skin problems, but my oldest has it the worst on his hands. They get and crack when he makes a fist. We put lotion on several times a day, but they remain dry and scaly. I would love a chance to try this stuff!
